Welcome Tour and Workbench

Welcome Tour

On first launch you'll get a four-screen tour

  1. Welcome to Cutup Generator

  2. Scout every situation

  3. Stats and charts your way

  4. You own the recipe

There are Back, Skip, and Next / Get Started buttons.

Replay it any time from Settings → View intro.

Workbench Area

Everything happens in one screen: the playlist tree on one side, the play grid on the other, with a toolbar above and below the tree.

Top toolbar, left to right:

  • Projects — open and manage your projects.

  • The load status, live progress while plays pull in ("Loading Week 4 (2 of 5)…", then "Building cutups — 1,204 plays…"). Once loaded it becomes the Refresh plays button.

  • The definition dropdown — pick the active recipe.

  • Manage definitions (☰) — the definitions list (ch. 4). Enabled once you're connected to your film platform.

  • The tree is your cutup library. The root shows the project and its size, "Panthers Week 4 (1,204 plays)", and every playlist shows its own count. Before anything loads it simply says "Load plays to begin."

  • The grid shows the selected playlist's plays, one row each — sorting, grouping, video, and more live here. Selecting a chart, stat, or title-slide node in the tree swaps the grid for that view.

  • Bottom toolbar: your account menu (avatar + email → Settings…, Signout) on the left; on the right, the partner connection button/status and, with the Player Packages license, the Player menu.

Making Room

  • Resize: drag the divider between tree and grid. The width is remembered.

  • Move the tree to the left or right of the grid: Settings → Task Pane position.

  • Hide the tree entirely with the grid header's Hide playlist pane button — full-width film. The same button brings it back.

  • Phones and tablets: the tree becomes a slide-over drawer. The  button opens it; picking a playlist (or tapping outside) closes it.
