Working with the Grid in Detail

Header Toggles

  • Show/Hide video — the video stage above the grid.

  • Show/Hide PFF diagram — Catapult projects only.

  • Show/Hide playlist pane — give the grid the full width. This one is always available, even with nothing selected, so a hidden tree can never strand you.

The Column Menu

Every column header is a menu. Click one and you get:

  • Sort Ascending / Sort Descending / Sort Most Frequent / Sort Least Frequent — the same engine as sort rules, applied on the fly. Sort several columns and small numerals on the headers show the priority.

  • Group by this column/Ungroup — instant count-and-percent bands, no sort rule required.

  • Filter values — a checklist of every value in this playlist (blanks show as "(Blank)"). Uncheck to hide those plays; filter several columns at once and they stack.

  • Clear column — remove this one column's sort, group, and filter.

Icons on the header keep score: sort/frequency arrows, a tree icon when grouped, a filter icon when filtered.

What If, Means What If

The moment any of that is active, a bar lights up above the grid: "What-if view (not saved):" with a chip per column — "Play Type (most freq · grouped)" — and a Reset view button.

The name is the promise. Nothing you do here is ever written to your saved sort rules, and the view resets when you switch playlists. 

Drill-downs land here too: double-click a chart bar or a stat row and the grid opens filtered to exactly those plays — same mechanism, same chips, same Reset view to climb back out.

Selecting Plays

  • Click a row to select that play — a plain click also cues the video to it.

  • Ctrl-click adds or removes plays from the selection; Shift-click selects a range. Multi-selects are for curation — they don't yank the video around.

  • With plays selected, an action bar appears above the grid ("4 plays selected") with a ⋯ menu — the same actions as right-click, reachable on touch devices where right-click isn't.

Right Click Options

Right-click any selected play (or use the ⋯ menu) and you get:

  • "Add N plays to:" — your ad-hoc playlists, mirrored as a nested menu; pick one and the selection lands in it.

  • "Remove N from this playlist" — offered while you're viewing an ad-hoc playlist.

  • "Download video" (Hudl/QwikCut) — pick a single angle by name, or All clips. One clip saves as an MP4; more arrive zipped as "{Playlist} clips.zip", with files named by grid row and angle — "007 - Sideline.mp4" — so they sort in film order on disk. A progress pill counts the clips down ("Downloading clips… (3/8)"), and a notice tells you if any clips were skipped.

Hand Order AdHoc Playlists

Click + New Project at the bottom of the list. It requires being connected, new projects belong to the connected team (the disabled button's tooltip says so).

One field: Name ("e.g. Offense 2025"). Name it for what's in it, the
opponent, the side of ball, the season. The partner is inherited from your
current connection. Click Create.

A new project starts with 0 Games and no filter, nothing loads until you pick games.
